My photographic journey of the 2009 U.S. Presidential Inauguration
January 20, 2009
0600 hrs EST - board metro at King Street Station bound for the district
M & I go over the map to determine our best route to the yellow ticket holder gate, and back-up route given that they continue to announce station closures
0910 finally arrive at the end of the yellow ticket holder line... merged with the purple ticket holder line... right, that was a line and no it was not moving
T looks reasonably worried that we might not make it the full distance to the capital (seen behind her in the distance)
0955 Yes, we finally made it to our spots, and yes I am happy to be there but my frozen lips are having trouble cracking a smile...

FACES OF THE INAUGURATION
This is my favorite part, just looking at the people and capturing their reactions, this is where I got to really try my photography skills, rather than just stick my camera in the air and shoot as I had been in the huge crowds.

January 2009 your a year off.
Loved your people photos. WOW
Too bad about the toilets in Tokyo per chance there is an earthquake.
I have to say Japan had the cleanest county I have ever been in and the dirtiest womens bathrooms in the world! (I didn't go into any of the mens!)
